I thank you for your interest in Mullins First Baptist Church. We are excited to present a website to you that may help answer a few questions that you may have about our church. God is working in a mighty way in our church, and we are excited about sharing that with everyone who is willing to listen. Although this website will answer many questions, please know that we stand ready to answer any other questions that you might have. We are a church who cares deeply about those in our church but equally for those who are outside the fellowship. If we can answer questions or help you in any way, we stand ready to do so.

The Bible is God’s living, Holy Word. It teaches us how to live, how to love, how to be a successful family, and how to experience victory in daily living. Here at our church we want to teach you how that can be applied in your daily walk. Please give us an opportunity to share our Lord with you and to teach you how you can grow in His love.  We would ask you to give us a chance to show you that wonderful love in a very personal way. Join us for worship. Friendly faces will always be there to greet you as you enter.

May God bless you as you seek the truth of the abundant Christian life. Remember Jesus said in John 10:10, "I have come that you might have life and have it to the full."

In Christ,

Jim Kirkland

Yes, we have a nursery for toddlers during the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. service. The nursery is also available during the evening services and Wednesday night services. If you would like to attend any of these services, the nursery is located downstairs.  The Nursery workers rotate each Sunday Morning.  Susan Baker is usually in the nursery on Wednesday and Sunday Evening.  She and her daughter, Jayme are wonderful with children and will have them wanting to come back each week.

We need church because we're designed to relationships that we'll find in a fellowship with Christians.  A Christian lifestyle is best practiced when it is lived out in community.  Only in relationships can we learn what it means to be patient, loving, giving, or sacrificial.  Even God's gifts to ou are meant to function in relation to others:  "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's frace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:10).
God wants a personal relationship with his children, and he wants his children to experience that relationship with other Christians.  He has always centered our spiritual worship, training, and religious celebreation in the heart of community.  The people of Israel practiced their devotion as a nation.  Modern-day Christians practice theirs in the collective body of the church.
It's easy for us to think that religion is strictly a personal matter.  It's true that God calls each of us individually and uniquely to our spiritual journeys.  But that's only one aspect of Christian living.  From our individual commitment to Christ will come a growing need to both find and give support, direction, and interaction in a community of believers.  What begins as "I" finds its completion in "we".
In Matthew 18:20 Jesus proclaimed, "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with."  God is always with us as individuals, but Jesus seems t be saying that there is also a unique quality of communion that he shares with us when we meet together as his church.
One of the most important functions of the church in our lives, however, is in moving us toward spiritual maturity.  Ephesians 4:11-16 explains that the goal of church life is that we may be "built up until we all reach unity in the faith....and become mature."  through the influence of the church we "will in all things grow up into him... as each part does its work."  We may know and love God on our own, but we become complete in him when we're connected to the life of his church.

Membership of this church shall be composed of persons who have given evidence of regeneration, who have been baptized by immersion, who have subscribed to the constitution of this church, and who have been received by the majority vote of the church present and voting.

Member from another church:  A member from another church of like faith and order may be received by majority vote of the members of the church present and voting upon a letter of dismission from that church.

No Letter:  Anyone who has once been a member of a church of like faith and order, and in consequence of peculiar circumstances has no regular letter of dismission, may be received into our fellowship upon a statement of their faith to the church.

If you are not sure where you stand with another church or have never been to church, e-mail Bonnie at the church office or call the church office at 464-8236 to learn more about how to have your life changed through the gospel of Christ.

Bible studies are an intrical part of learning the Bible and therefore helping you understand what God's will in your life is all about.  Grow closer to Him with the Bible studies in your area.  There is a list of studies that should work for you.  At Mullins First Baptist, we are working hard to encourage the small group studies for fellowship and a greater understanding.  Please feel free to join in on any of these Bible study courses and allow God to work within you.

Mullins First Baptist offers so many small group Bible studies in hopes of getting the members and others more involved in Bible Study in their every day life.  These are a few of the small group Bible studies that are active and ongoing.

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.  We engage, therefore by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and reguarly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.  We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and aquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the word; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger;  to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.  We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love;  to remember each other in prayer;  to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.  We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
